About the Artist
TAMEKA U SHELFORD was born in New York to Caribbean parents. She spent her early childhood on the islands of St. Thomas, USVI and Tortola, BVI. She enjoys travelling and learning about different cultures, which inspire many of her creative projects. She expresses herself through photography, fine art, and writing. In an ever-changing world, her goal is to try new things, always learning, ever-improving.
She has a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from The Johns Hopkins University and currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
